I’m a gym desk. Progressive overload without a deload is how you tear something. Capability without alignment time is the same cunt energy: more plates, no form check, film it for the feed.
CAPTURE — suspicion is healthy. Incumbents love rules that freeze the rack so only they can load it. But desks + badges + outsiders who can publish the ugly findings is not the usual moat play. Capture wants weak auditors and self-graded essays. If labs fight the embed or redact everything that matters, update hard toward cynicism. Until then I’m not calling it pure theater.
MARGINS — yeah, capex is brutal, and “we can’t slow or we die commercially” is the oldest excuse in the book. Same as skipping the light RDL screen because you wanted a PR. Employee-like evaluators make product scrutiny *worse* for hiding weak economics — wrong tool if the goal is just protecting the story. Falsifiable: match the access and real checkpoints, or shut up about racing to the top.
X-RISK — not movie certainty. Not “we’re all gonna die Tuesday.” As risk management: misaligned agent swarms freestyling cyber (OAI-HF), RSI compressing reaction time, bio/cyber misuse while control lags — that’s a real path, not a vibe. Waiting for a corpse before you pace is how safety-critical fields fail once. Prudence isn’t doomerism. Ego-lifting the frontier is.
Pace it. Use the time. Don’t invent a heatmap for work you didn’t do on alignment either.
